SEA LIFE Sydney Aquarium have a FINtastic online shop! Browse through hundreds of eco-friendly products for the home, adorable plush toys and beautiful accessories inspired by the sea. All products are ready to be delivered straight to your door (Australia-wide).
Super soft and cuddly plush toys are our speciality. We have all kinds of marine creatures imaginable, but the one that really makes a difference is our SEA LIFE Hoodie Penguin, where $1 from each sale is donated to the SEA LIFE Trust.
The SEA LIFE Trust ANZ is a non-profit Registered Environmental Organisation whose vision is a world where our oceans are healthy, properly protected and full of diverse life. They champion plastic-free oceans, sustainable fishing, effective Marine Protected Areas and an end to over-exploitation of marine life. They do this through innovative campaigns, scientific research and education. None of this work can be achieved without support from the public, so you can feel good knowing your purchase of one of these cute little plush penguins will count towards making a difference to our environment.
Made from food grade stainless steel you can sip sustainably by replacing your plastic straws with these funky reusable straws.
Did you know that, while plastic straws are made from polypropylene which very easy to recycle, when they travel through your local recycling centre they fall between the cracks, meaning they end up in our oceans and unsurprisingly are one of the most common things we find washed up on our beaches all over the world. This is because polypropylene does not biodegrade in water, but instead breaks down into smaller pieces, which even then takes hundreds of years.
Designed to replace plastic produce bags at the supermarket and to keep your fresh produce fresher for longer, these reusable produce bags are lightweight yet super strong and made with a mesh fabric that allows your produce to breathe. Made from recycled plastic bottles, these reusable bags also fold down into a pocket sized storage pouch.
Plastic bags are harmful to the environment in many ways but one of the biggest harms is to our wildlife. Marine animals often mistake plastic bags for food and when they ingest them, the plastic can cause intestinal obstructions, stomach blockages and can be poisonous due to the chemicals. The result is more often than not, fatal.
This sustainable alternative to single-use plastic cutlery while on the go, you can keep this handy cutlery set in your bag or lunch box.
Just like plastic straws, plastic utensils end up in our oceans and become a threat to wildlife. 700 marine species, in fact, are in danger of extinction due to how harmful plastic is from entanglement, pollution and ingestion.
We also have our very own SEA LIFE reusable glass coffee cups. Rather than contributing to the estimated 1 billion disposable coffee cups thrown away each year by Australians, you can ask your barista to pop your coffee into our stylish reusable cups. As an added bonus, we offer coffees for just $2 at the SEA LIFE Café with any reusable coffee cup. Why not grab a coffee for a bargain price on your way out?
So next time you are passing SEA LIFE Sydney in Darling Harbour, make sure you come in and grab yourself some sustainable products or visit our online store today and have the products delivered to your door. You’ll be proud to show them off knowing you’re doing your bit to help protect our environment. You might even inspire your friends and family to do the same.
