Here you'll find the answers to some of the most common questions asked by guests at SEA LIFE Sydney Aquarium and through our Call Centre.
Is SEA LIFE Sydney Aquarium the same as Sydney Aquarium?
Yes! We became part of the global SEA LIFE family in September 2012.
Do you have a cloakroom?
SEA LIFE Sydney Aquarium doesn't currently have any storage space to take bags, luggage or prams. We do however offer lockers in various sizes for rent. Prices range from $3 for 3 hours for a small locker to $6 for 6 hours for the largest locker.
There are also many nearby storage facilities to store luggage. Click here for more information.
Can my children ride scooters or rollerblades inside the attraction?
No. We need to be mindful of the safety of our guests at all times.
Is SEA LIFE Sydney Aquarium wheelchair friendly?
SEA LIFE Sydney Aquarium has extensive wheelchair access facilities throughout the attraction and wheelchairs are available for free hire from guest services on arrival.
Please be advised due to the steepness of our ramps that lead down to our deeper oceanariums (Shark Valley and Dugong Island), wheelchair users may find they require extra assistance.
Please note: we require a security deposit, such as a credit or bank card, which is returned upon return of the wheelchair.
What is the Glass Bottom Boat?
The Glass Bottom Boat is a 10-15 minute behind-the-scenes tour of our huge Great Barrier Reef oceanarium. The glass bottom will help you get an incredible view of 100's of tropical fish and some of the reef's more famous predators, sharks, as well as sawfish and other cool animals found on the real reef. Go to the Glass Bottom Boat page for more info.
Do you have a family ticket?
Family tickets are ONLY available online. They are not available for purchase at the attraction. SEA LIFE Sydney Aquarium also offers a family Merlin Annual Pass, giving 2 adults and 2 children unlimited entry to all Merlin attractions in Sydney, the rest of Australia and New Zealand. Click here to find out more about the Merlin Annual Pass.
Standard tickets are valid for one entry into the attraction.
Do you have to use your tickets in one day?
Single admissions (Single Visit tickets) are valid for one entry and must be used on the date and time specified during the online booking process (if applicable).
Do we have to enter SEA LIFE Sydney Aquarium straight after purchasing our tickets?
No. You may enter at a later time on that day, however this is a one entry ticket which must be used on the day of issue.
If I buy tickets online it says I have to pick a timeslot. Do I have to arrive and leave within that timeslot?
Single admissions (Single Visit tickets) often require you to pick a timeslot when bought through our website. This timeslot is for your arrival only - you do NOT have to leave within this timeslot. Once you're in, you can stay as long as you like.
Is it a guided tour?
No. SEA LIFE Sydney Aquarium is a self guided-tour. However, guided tours are available. If you would like to book a guided tour or a VIP guided tour please call the Call Centre team on 1-800-199-657 (Our telephone lines are open 9am - 5pm).
Our General Admission (Single Visit) online tickets are priced according to the time and date you want to visit. There is always an allocation of maximum discounted tickets available on the website for certain dates and times. As with other tickets that are sold online, from flights to theme park passes or hotel rooms, the best prices are available during off peak times, such as late afternoons or weekdays (although we do occasionally run special discounts during peak times too). That's not to say that visiting at those times is any different in terms of experience, as we strive to offer all of our guests a great experience, no matter when they visit. Aside from the biggest discounts we offer during off peak times, we also guarantee to ALWAYS offer a minimum 10% discount on General Admission tickets when you buy on this website compared to our standard walk up prices, so you'll save money no matter when you want to visit. And there's no booking fees either, so there are no nasty surprises when it comes to purchasing. Click to view General Admission tickets.
Our combination Sydney attractions passes offer you one entry into each of the attractions included on your chosen pass. When you buy one of these multi attraction passes here on the SEA LIFE Sydney Aquarium website, you will be required to select a date for your visit. This is the date for your Sydney Aquarium visit ONLY. From the date you select for your SEA LIFE Sydney Aquarium visit, you will then have 30 days to visit the other attractions included on the pass you have chosen. The reason you must visit SEA LIFE Sydney Aquarium FIRST when you buy any multi attraction pass on this website is because it is upon arrival at SEA LIFE Sydney Aquarium where your tickets to the other attractions are issued to you. The other attractions are unable to issue those tickets from their ticketing systems. You can then use them to gain entry at the other attraction/s on the same day as your SEA LIFE Sydney Aquarium visit if you wish, or on a date within 30 days from that point. Click to view and buy combo Sydney attractions passes.
Note: If you are using our 'best price combo creator' tool, it will find the best price for you. For example, if you select 2 Adults + 2 Children, it will take you to the Family ticket. Please also note the 30 day visit rule shown in the combo creator does not apply if you upgrade to the Merlin Annual Pass.
